Jimmie Lee Spencer was born on July 17, 1949, in Harris County, Georgia, to the late Conrad and Lydia Spencer. From an early age, she embraced her faith, giving her life to Christ at Mt. Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Hamilton, GA.
She attended Carver High School in Hamilton, Georgia, and began her working years at Callaway Gardens. The youngest of two children, Jimmie shared a special and loving bond with her sister that remained close throughout her life.
In the early 1980s, Jimmie moved to Atlanta with her beloved son, Marvin, to begin a new chapter. While there, she joined Faith Temple Christian Church, where she faithfully served as an usher and as a dedicated member of the pastor’s aide ministry until her health declined.
Affectionately known as “Snickie” to family and friends, Jimmie was known for her warm spirit and strong work ethic. She was employed at Paschal’s Hotel and Restaurant for more than 20 years before continuing her career at Northside Hospital, from which she later retired.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Lydia, nephew, Anthony Holloway, and companion, Boysie Sims.
Jimmie leaves to cherish her precious memories her devoted son, Marvin Spencer; her loving sister, Verna Alexander; nieces, Symantha Holloway and LaTanya Alexander; nephews, Sylvester Holloway (Malanya) and Larry Alexander (Nakengee); and a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
